Black cat gets named Shadow after selecting a human in the supermarket parking lot and following her all the way home: ‘She’s pretty much obsessed with me'

Do you ever leave the grocery store and say, "Gosh, I think I forgot something!" Well, cat lovers, maybe you forgot to bring home the adorable, sweet black cat that you were petting in the parking lot. Fortunately, this person, taking a late-night stroll to their grocery store, found exactly what they were looking for at the market: A friend.

Cats come to us at the most random times. In classic cat fashion, it's often at the most inconvenient moments of our lives, like when our hands are full of laundry, we're juggling soccer tournament schedules, or we're heading out in a hurry on the way to work. But that's just it, isn't it? Cats don't operate on our timing; we're supposed to operate on theirs.

When this young cat lover was stressed out about life, they found themselves wandering the streets for a late-night stroll. Unbeknownst to them, they'd stumble upon another wayward traveler in the now-empty lot of a supermarket nearby. This black cat wasn't bad luck; in fact, she was purrfectly on time for this cat lover's needs: Perfectly on schedule, you might say.

Although most cat lovers don't realize it when they first lock eyes with a kitty, the cat already knows you'll be their furrever human. This kitty, a black void named Shadow, became just that: a shadow to the human they decided would be theirs forever. After snacking on a few pocket treats, this cat knew that it was time for them to leave a life in the streets as a stray behind them, walking right behind a friendly human and forward into a totally new life. Meowing like a banshee at the front door of this kind stranger's house, this cat found a way to burrow into their soul, bonding with them before crossing the threshold for the final time.

I'd say that this grocery store run wasn't like any that I've ever had, and yet I'm a bit jealous. Head to the store to grab a few random regular items and come home with a kitten? What a score like never before! Alas, like all cat lovers, I'll just have to wait for my moment to be chosen by the CDS.
